About Us

Brasil Wellness Center was started in the summer of 2011 by Roberta Cruz-Toews and her husband Dean Toews. Being that Dean is an active Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Instructor and Roberta a certified Yoga Instructor, it was only natural that the two of them would unite two great arts under one roof to form the Brasil Wellness Center. The whole concept behind the Brasil Wellness Center is to bring about a different type of wellness to people of all sorts, whether they just want to stay in shape using Hatha Yoga, learn self-defense or be an active competitor in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Yoga and Jiu Jitsu go hand in hand in many ways. Both arts are great for dealing with stress, improving breathing, weight loss, improve conditioning and have the ability to improve one’s overall lifestyle. If you are not the type of person who likes to attend a regular gym to lift weights or jump on a treadmill daily, Yoga or Jiu Jitsu can provide an alternative to better all-around health with an entertaining factor added in!
